Carmen, the hairdresser asked if I wanted a shampoo, I asked if it was extra and she said no. She washed my hair, wrapped it in a towel and took me to her chair. She took the towel off my hair; but at no point did she squeeze the water out, so my hair was dripping and she took the towel away and the wet soaked right through the cape and my shirt was wet. After a quick cut that looked pretty good, she asked if I wanted my hair blow dried. I thought it was because she could see I was wet and cold.
After she blew my hair out, I went with her to the register. She said "that will be $35.79. I was very surprised and said what for? She replied that it was $15.50 for the cut, $14.95 for the blow dry and $3.00 for the conditioner + tax. What conditioner? She said she conditioned my hair when she shampooed it.
What a rip off!! And to think I tipped her $8.00 because it was X-mas. I left feeling crummy. I will never go there again. Shame on you Smart Style for your deceptive way of doing business. 128557d

1. Written by stylist on March 30, 2012 from orlando, florida, US At our salon any hair to shoulders is 26.95 to blow dry if you any tools such a round brush. I always inform my clients of the prices. Long hair can really add up if a blow dry with tools is added in.
2. Written by stylist on March 6, 2012 from staten island, new york, US the $14.95 kinda surprises me i work for smartstyle and the only reason we charge that is if they want it flat ironed or curled the round brush is just part of the blow dry but yes she should have told you of the charges
3. Written by Smart style stylist on January 12, 2012 from tampa, florida, US It was wrong of her not to tell you of the charges if she was aware that the price was important to you. It is hard as a stylist with this company because they try to keep the prices low by doing everything separate. In my salon if some one sits down and says the want the works then we know they are not worried about each indivual price. To cut and expressd dry with your hands is $18.50. Anything with a round brush or style is an additional $14.95. I tell my cutomers if they want to be washed, cut, and styled it will come to about thirty bucks and most are happy with that ![]()
